Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Janice Marie Dupre Perry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. William P. "Bill" Ruskoski will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Readings will be done by Trudy Fusilier and Larry Paul Bodin. Ed Bordelon and Jennifer Manuel will be the gift bearers for the Mass.
Janice was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Broussard, LA. She passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at her home in Broussard surrounded by her loving family and close friends at the age of 62. Janice was a very committed and dedicated employee at Schlumberger where she worked as an Admin Specialist for 20 years. She was very active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard as head of the grief support group for 1 year and Eucharistic Minister for 12 years. She also taught Catechism for 6 years at St. Cecilia Catholic School in Broussard. She has taken several trips overseas to France, Italy, and Spain during her Religious Pilgrimages through the church.
Janice is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Freddie "Fred" Perry, Jr. of Broussard; one son, Christopher Byron Perry of Lafayette; her mother, Mary Australia Richard Dupre Comeaux and stepfather, John E. Comeaux of Opelousas; three sisters, Cheryl Dupre of Haughton; Trudy Dupre Fusilier and her husband, Timmy of Opelousas; and Melanie Dupre Pitre of Opelousas; step grandmother, Evangeline Miller Comeaux of Opelousas; sister-in-law, Andrea Pitre and husband, Brent of Opelousas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Dupre; and one brother, Randall Dupre; and one nephew, Gavin Dupre.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Broussard, J. L. Broussard, Ed Bordelon, Wesley Bodin, Duane Dupre, and Brent Pitre.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. The Funeral Home will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Dwayne Joubert on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
