Janet Navi Boatman

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Janet Navi Boatman, 92, will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Landry Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Msgr. Robert Romero will officiate the Mass.

Mrs. Boatman was born in Opelousas on June 27, 1915, and passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Friday, February 29, 2008, in the Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington, LA. She was a member of St. Landry Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Boatman. Together, they owned and operated Boatman Cleaners for 25 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents: John and Sadie Garbo Navi.

She is survived by her sons: Joe and wife, Sandra; John and wife, Patricia; grandchildren: Janet Lois and John Ewing Boatman; and Lisa Seale and husband, Charles; and great-grandson, Jake Seale; sister, Josephine Zink; and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.

A Rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
