James Mistrot, Jr.

Opelousas -Funeral services for James Earl "Brother" Mistrot, Jr., age 61, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Deacon Tom Linzey will officiate the services.

James was resident of Opelousas. He died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX. He was an avid hunter, deer, rabbit, and squirrel. He was loved dearly by his friends and family, and his grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Survivors include his loving wife, of 40 years, Deborah Fusilier Mistrot of Opelousas, sons, Jaime Mistrot and fiancé Stephanie, and Ryan "Jody" Mistrot and his wife, Bridgette all of Opelousas, brothers, Jacque Mistrot and his wife, Trish of Colorado, and Pierre Mistrot and his wife, Brenda of Three Mile, sisters, Missy St. Cyr and her husband, Billy of Opelousas, Jeanne Nixon and her husband, John of Houston, TX., Julie Cooper and her husband, Mark of Lafayette, 5 grandchildren, Kacie Danielle Mistrot, Kyle and Jade Warren, Colin Leeroy and Valerie Paige Mistrot, mother-in-law, Roma Fusilier of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl Sr. and Frances Lastrapes Mistrot, and daughter, Shala Danielle Mistrot.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 8:00 am till time of service.
