James Miller

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mr. James Ray Miller, on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville. Father Gayle Nunez will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. James, age 71, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center with his daughter Paula by his side. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Terryal James Miller of Opelousas; daughters, Shelia Marie Leger (Paul) of Carencro, Paula Sue Miller Fontenot (significant other, Joseph Larry Soileau) of Opelousas, Melinda Ann Vallery of Church Point and Mary Marie Miller (companion, Timmy Zachary) of Leonville; brothers, Harold Miller (Carol) of Opelousas, Daly Miller of Eunice and Lee Vern Miller of Duson; sisters, Delores Guillory of Opelousas, Beverly Thibodeaux of Leonville and Gloria Bezet (Ron) of Opelousas; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgette Credeur Miller; parents, Clifton and Verna Mae Miller; son, Christopher James Miller; brothers, Lawrence Miller, Clifton Miller, Jr.; sisters, Anna Lee Trahan, Patsy Gail Miller and Verna Stout; and granddaughter, Sissy Marie Miller.

The family requests visitation be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Terryal, Trey, Miranda, Christopher K., Christopher J., Lauren, Georgiana, Zachariah, Marianna, Joshua, James, Joseph, Shantel, Ava, Roman, Avery, Hayden, Jayce, Emily, Claire and Caleb.
