Opelousas- With deep sorrow, we report the sudden death of our dear brother, James M. "Buster" Malveaux. He died in his sleep on July 21, 2018, at the age of 72.
James was the son of the late Dorothy and James Malveaux of Plaisance community. It is of some comfort to know that he had achieved his dream of returning to this place of his birth in his later years. Following discharge from the US Navy, James graduated from San Diego State University and resided in the city of Los Angels, California, working in several professions until moving to Houston, Texas. He returned to Opelousas in 2010 and spent the last months of his life with his family.
James leaves this earthly existence for the afterlife to be with his parents, eight brothers and sisters.
Remaining here to mourn his loss are his brother, Harold Malveaux and sisters, Mary Cathy, Iris Ann, Sister Mary Philomena, and several nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved and we will miss him every day.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plaisance on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. in the church. A private interment will be held at a later date, in the St. Landry Catholic Cemetery.
Words of Comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
