James Elder, Jr.

Opelousas- A graveside service for James “Jim” Elder, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Jim, age 72, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Opelousas General Health System.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Turnmyre Elder of Opelousas; son, Shawn Elder and wife, Tina of Opelousas; daughter, Michelle Elder Doran and husband, Matthew of Baton Rouge; step-son, Jason Spain of Opelousas; sisters, Denise Duplechain of Port Barre and Mary Simon of Grand Coteau; grandchildren, Lane and Rose Elder, Michael, Maddie and Mason Doran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Elder, Sr. and Madeline Elaine Elder and the mother of his children, Linda Olivier Elder.
