Opelousas– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for James “Daryl” Miller on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the service. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Bridget Mausoleum in Lawtell.
Daryl, age 71, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Lafayette General Hospital Medical Center. He is going to be missed by all of his family and friends.
Daryl is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Loretta “Jane” Marcantel Miller of Lawtell, sons, Scott J. Miller and his partner Jorge Le-Roy Jr. of Baton Rouge, and Jude E. Miller and his wife, Michelle of Opelousas, sisters, Kathy Simar and her husband, Steve of Jennings, and Arlene Schneider and her husband David of Houston, brother-in-law, Kevin Gotte of Iota, grandchildren, Zachary Jude Miller and Zane Michael Miller.
Daryl is preceded in death by his parents, James Harold and Mary Curtis Miller, sister, Diana Gotte.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Pallbearers include-Marcus Macip, Jude Miller, Zachary Miller, Steve Simar, Darrell Higginbotham, and Jorge Le-Roy, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Zane Miller and David Schneider.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Mr. Miller to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 4950 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge or marybird.org.
