James Ricci Carter

Morrow, La Funeral services for Mr. James Ricci Carter, everyone knew him as Ricci, age 54, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in the Morrow Baptist Church in Morrow. Interment will follow in the Morrow Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. Roy Baker will officiate the service.

Ricci was a native of Bunkie, LA, and was a long-time resident of Washington. He died on Monday, January 12, 2009, at his residence after a length illness. Ricci was the owner of Ricks Auto Repair Service in Washington. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife, family and friends. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and customers.

He is survived by sons, Courtney J. Morain and wife Amanda of Washington, Scott M. Morain and wife Crystal of Washington; daughters, Venessa M. Taylor of Opelousas, Yvette M. Talley and husband Jeff of Scott, Bridtgett M. Tidwell and fianc Johnny Robin of Port Barre; brother, Dennis Carter and wife Sue of Cecilia; sister, Judy Gardiner and husband Bill of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Sandra Carter of Bunkie; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.

Ricci was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Aline Soileau Carter; parents, Henry Lionel and Emma Emily Vannoy Carter; and brother, Roy Lionel Carter.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. Visitation resumes at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 until 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Visitation will then continue at 12:30 p.m. in the Morrow Baptist Church, Morrow, La until time of service at 2:30 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the La. Hospice and Palliative Care, Opelousas; and to Quality Care of Melville, La. For their loving care and support to the family and for all that they did during Riccis illness.
