James Jim Boudreaux, Jr
Lawtell, La Funeral services for Mr. James Jim Boudreaux, Jr., age 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Lawtell, followed by interment in the St. Bridget Church Cemetery. The Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Mr. Jim was a native of Lawtell and a long time resident of Lawtell and Opelousas and was currently living at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs. He passed away at 11:09 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009.
Mr. Jim, before his retirement worked for the La. Department of Agriculture as an Inspector, he and his wife at one time owned a Mercantile Store in Opelousas and he also was a farmer. Mr. Jim enjoyed Quail and Dove hunting. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is going to be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his son, Gerald Boudreaux and wife Cinder Pitre Boudreaux of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Stephen Boudreaux, Trent Boudreaux, and Kristi Hollier; great grandchildren, Tyler Boudreaux, Danielle Boudreaux, Shelbey Boudreaux, Gabrielle Hollier, and Joshua Hollier.
Mr. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Veota Smith Boudreaux; parents, James Boudreaux, Sr. and Emma Goudeau Boudreaux; brother, Marion Boudreaux; sisters, Lula Kolder, Ivy Smith, Pearl Gaye.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A Rosary service will be held on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
