Ina Rourks

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Ina Mae Grimmett Rourks, age 105, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Port Barre. Pastor Ted Fine will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

She was born in Camden, Arkansas, and was a longtime resident of Port Barre. She died on Friday, April 15, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was known to many as the town quilter. She enjoyed cooking, baking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Syble Gaudet and husband, Bobby of Port Barre and Aline Hudson and husband, Wade of Port Barre one sister, Louise Jones of Bastrop 12 grandchildren: Kathy Moerbe, Karen Fretwell, Christopher Norman, Kim Kemp, Belinda Johnson Lewis, Becky Sonnier, Robert Gaudet, Bobbie Jo LeBlanc, Shirley Reviere, Susan Richard Thibodeaux, Tracy Godeaux, and Tara Adams and many greatgrandchildren and greatgreatgrandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Q. Rourks son, Sydney Ray Rourks daughter, Betty Rourks Norman soninlaw, Charles Norman 2 infants parents, Sam Grimmett and Lyda Hickman Grimmett 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and one greatgreatgranddaughter, Layla Michelle Gaudet.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chris Norman and Robert Gaudet and her greatgrandsons, Travis Menard, Derik Godeaux, Matthew Thibodeaux, Tyler Adams, Brenton Sonnier, Jake Gaudet, and Beaux Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre beginning at 5 p.m. with an allnight wake until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Liz Morrison and Mitcha Thompson of Hospice Care of Avoyelles and the doctors and staff who assisted her during her time of need.
