Ida Veillon

Opelousas Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Ida Soileau Veillon. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Rev. Benny Reppond will officiate the services.
Ida was a native of Ville Platte and a longtime resident of Opelousas, LA. She passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Senior Village Nursing Home of Opelousas at the age of 80. She was a homemaker and seamstress. As a pastime, she would enjoy working in her yard. She loved spending time with her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Kenny Burke Veillon of Opelousas one sister, Grace Naquin of Opelousas two grandchildren, Chad Darbonne and wife, Joli of Tunica, LA and Chantel Guice of Opelousas and 10 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Soileau and Ledia Catoire Soileau her daughter, Brenda Ann Veillon sister, Mildred Sylvester and brother, Ray Soileau.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. On Friday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
