Ida Mary Savoy

Opelousas- Funeral services for Ida Mary Savoy, age 100, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, with a mass of Christian Burial in the St. Landry Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Msgr. Robert Romero will celebrate the mass.

Ida was born in Sunset and was a long-time resident of Opelousas. She died on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. Ida was a Radiology Tech. at Opelousas General Hospital. She was also a member of St. Landry Catholic Church; Ida loved to travel until her health failed, she also loved to cook one of her best dishes was beef roast for her family and friends.

Mourning her death yet cherishing her memories are eight nieces and nephews, thirteen great- nieces and nephews, and seven great -great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents: Vitalis and Lillian Devalcourt Savoy, and three brothers; Evariste Vol Savoy, Eric Savoy, and Hubert Savoy.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas on Saturday, August 29, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
