Hilma "Shanie" Theriot

Opelousas– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Hilma “Shanie” Perry Theriot on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Opelousas. Fr. Greg Simien will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Hilma, age 95, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at her daughter home surrounded by her loving family.

Hilma is survived by her sons, Gary Theriot (Elisabeth) of Cumming, Georgia, and Patrick “Pat” Theriot (Ruth) of Baton Rouge, daughter, Elizabeth Lightfoot (John) of Sunset, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Hilma is preceded in death by husband, Allen Theriot, her parents, Oscar and Mary Blanche Perry, two brothers, and five sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30pm. The rosary will be recited at 12:15 p.m.  in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
