Hilda Fontenot Trosclair
OpelousasFuneral services for Mrs. Hilda Fontenot Trosclair, age 86, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Father Angelo Cremaldi will celebrate the Mass.
Hilda was a native of Ville Platte, LA, and was a longtime resident of Opelousas, LA. She was currently living in Kingwood, Texas. She died on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, Texas.
She was the previous owner of the Hildas Beauty Shop for 36 years and Ardoins Seafood Market for 45 years. She was a past member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Opelousas Rosary Group, V.F. W. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Cowbells. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her life revolved around doing for and caring for her family. She was a wonderful and loving wife, and a very devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and greatgreatgrandmother.
Survivors include three daughters: Gloria Tate and of Humble, TX Jackie Doucet Vidrine and husband, Aubrey of Carencro and Sandra Gay of LaPorte, TX one brother, Willis Fontenot and wife, Gertie of Opelousas two sisters: Wenda Defore of Lafayette and Barbara Dutell and husband, Charles of Sunset sisterinlaw, Yvonne Fontenot of Opelousas 7 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Darius Ardoin her second husband, James Trosclair her parents: Alter and Ezer Fontenot and two brothers, Jessie Fontenot and Alphan Fontenot nephew, Dwayne Dutell.
Pallbearers will be Todd Doucet, Mitch Tate, Scott Gay, Kelly Bihm, Zachary Stevens, and Damon Doucet.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 4 p.m. for the family 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. for the public. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
