Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Stelly Landry, age 89, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Father Wayne Duet will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Landry was born in Grand Coteau, a past resident of Carencro, and was currently residing in Opelousas. She passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Prompt Succor Nursing Facility in Opelousas. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Jeanette Sibille and husband, Irwin of Prairie Ronde; and Mrs. Judy Riley and husband, Pat of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Vivian Guidry of Arnaudville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Landry; parents: Hebert and Mary Lamury Stelly; three brothers: Harold, Walter, and Robert Stelly; and two sisters: Rita Savoie and Mable Guidry.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Friday, June 13, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
