Hester Marie Guillory Bellow
Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Hester Marie Guillory Bellow, 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services. The readings will be done by Angela Boone, Vallie Theriot, and Shelby Constantine.
Mrs. Hester was a native of Plaisance and a long-time resident of Opelousas. She died at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008, in the Senior Village Nursing Home. She was a very devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Most of her life she was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and was an excellent seamstress. She also worked at Bellard's Poultry and Meche's Meat Market. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include four sons: Charles Chuck Bellow and Elaine of Opelousas; Michael Bellow and wife, Kathy of Page, AZ; Ray Bellow and wife, Pat; and Eddie Bellow and wife, Tammy; and all of Opelousas; six daughters: Bonita Bonnie Bourque and husband, Keith; Carolyn Sue Collins and husband, Bryant, Christine Devillier and husband, Phillip; and Cathie Ortego and husband, Neil; all of Opelousas; Pamela Ann Bellow of Ville Platte; and Rebecca Becky Dubroc and husband, Perry of Eunice. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her husband, Tensay Charles Bellow, Sr.; her parents: Eraste Guillory and Rosa Dupre Guillory; one grandchild, Brooks Bellow; three great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Brook Bellow, and twins, Brooklyn and Bailey Bellow; nine brothers and sisters; and Mrs. Octavia Ta Vee Dupre, who raised her from childhood.
Pallbearers will be Chris Devillier, Tiger Collins, Shaun Bourque, Jacom Perry Dubroc, Oliver Bellow, and Eric Ortego.
Visiting hours will be observed from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Sunday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary service will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in the funeral home.
