Herbert Morain

Port Barre - A Mass of Christian Burial for Herbert Morain will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery. Fth. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Herbert was a resident of Waxia and passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas at the age of 91. Herbert served our Nation in the U.S. Army. After serving in the Military, he returned home and helped run the Morain family country store in Waxia, La. Mr. Herbert was loved by his family and friends and is going to be greatly missed.
Survivors include his sister, Armede Morain Smith of Palmetto and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Celestine Stoute Morain; brothers, Charles Morain, LeRoy Morain, Johnny Morain; sisters, Lelia Guidry, Lucille Meche and Hazel Artigue.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
