Herbert Joseph Lanclos
Opelousas Funeral services for Herbert Joseph Lanclos, age 76, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Rev. Msgr. Keith Joseph DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.
Herbert was a native and a longtime resident of Opelousas. He died on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Acadia St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Herbert worked for the State of Louisiana as a Striper he retired after many years of service with the State. After Herb retired with the State Department he worked for Sibille Funeral Home part time.
Survivors include children Paul Wayne Lanclos wife, Cindy of Opelousas, Jeanette Lanclos Green husband, Blann of Opelousas, Joni Lanclos Dolbee husband, Tony of Opelousas, brothers Harry Lanclos, of Port Barre, Elton Lanclos of Lawtell, Murphy Lanclos of Opelousas, Adolph A.J. Lanclos of Sunset, sisters Rita Taylor of Kentucky, Freida Cason, of Paducah Kentucky, Beverly Bernard of Church Point, seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death his parents Adolph Sr. and Costance Bergeron Lanclos, his wife, Barbara Lanclos, sons Clement David and Patrick Brian Lanclos, brother, Horace Lanclos.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, from 3 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. A special rosary group will recite a Rosary at 11:00 a.m. on Monday morning in the Funeral Home Chaple.
