Port Barre A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, for Herbert Aymond, age 84, Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Fr. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Herbert passed away on May 6, 2012 at Opelousas General Health System. He proudly served his country while in the Army, World War II. He was employeed with Sam Grimmett all of his life. Herbert enjoyed rabbit hunting, raising rabbit dogs, watching tv, and gardening. He was a member of Swayze Lake hunting club for many years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Lelia Stoute Aymond of Port Barre, one son, Ronald Aymond of Port Barre, sisters, Ida Nezat of Port Barre, Lillian LeBlanc of Opelousas, brother, Bobby Gene Aymond Of Leonville and Horace Aymond of Port Barre, one grandchild, Yancy Aymond and wife, Renee of Port Barre, and three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, Avery Aymond.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Euclide and Elda Wyble Aymond, sister, Lilly Ann Guidry, brothers, Herman and Harry Aymond.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 8 am to 1:30 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
A Rosary service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday morning in the funeral home.
