Henrietta Speyrer Boudreaux

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Henrietta Joubert Speyrer Boudreaux, age 69, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. Fr. Nicky Trahan will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Henrietta was born in Washington and was a longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009, at the Opelousas General Health System. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. She was a wonderful person and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Paul Boudreaux, Sr. of Port Barre; two sons: Raymond Speyrer and companion, Beverly Soileau of Port Barre; and Anthony Tony Speyrer and wife, Gayle of Port Barre; two daughters: Cynthia Cindy Barron and husband, Jimmie of Leonville; and Donna Richard and husband, Ray of Port Barre; one brother, A. J. Joubert and wife, Diane of Carencro; five sisters: Vernita Lasseigne of Port Allen; Ida Theriot of Sunset; Joyce Tweedel of Opelousas; Geraldine Fontenot of Lafayette; and Georgiana Antie and husband, Cecil of Port Barre; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She also has three stepsons: Paul Boudreaux, Jr.; Clifton Boudreaux of California; Phillip Boudreaux of New York; two stepdaughters:Debra Boudreaux of New York; and Peggy Bourque and husband, Bobby of Church Point; 11 step grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Adolph Joubert, Sr. and Thelma Smith Joubert; sisters: Ruby Fontenot and Anna Bell Fontenot; grandchild, Monica Speyrer Hooks; and her former husband, Ray Speyrer.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. On Thursday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
