Helen Credeur Savoie
Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Credeur Savoie, age 85, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the services. Interment will follow in the Green Oaks Cemetery in Baton Rouge.
Helen was born and raised in Leonville and was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge and was currently residing in Port Barre. She died on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at LTAC of Acadiana in Lafayette. She was a retired cook from the Baton Rouge Parish School Board who worked in the cafeteria for over 40 years. She loved to travel with her husband and window shopping. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Jane Faul of Port Barre; three step-daughters: Candy Rice, Tandy Campanile, and Dottie Purpera, all of Baton Rouge; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edrop Savoie; her parents: Eddie Credeur and Victoria Savoie Credeur; two brothers: Aleus Credeur, Sr. and Edwin Credeur; and three sisters: Louise Anna Aymond, Lorena C. Credeur, and Lucille C. Marks.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Monday, April 21, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. until 10 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
