Port BarreFuneral services for Helen Johnson Robin, age 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Internment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.
Helen was a resident of Port Barre. She died on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System.
Helen was employed at the Port Barre High School in the cafeteria. She was retired from the St. Landry Parish School Board on June 4, 1996.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her life revolved around doing for and caring for her family. She was a wonderful and loving wife, and a very devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, and greatgrandmother.
Survivors include her one daughter: Carolyn Robin Cropper and husband Whitney of Port Barre, two grandchildren: Brennan Cropper and wife, Sara, of Allen TX, and Robin Cropper, Plano TX, and her greatgrandchildren: AnneMarie, Noah and Grace Cropper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Robin, and her parents, Andrew Johnson and Marie B. Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Brennan Cropper, Whitney Cropper, Leroy Robin, Larry Eugene Robin and Mark Robin.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, from 9 a.m. for the family 10 a.m.. until 10 p.m. for the public. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
