Helen Richard

Opelousas Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Port Barre, for Helen O. Richard. Rev. Benji Richard will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Helen was a resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at her home, at the age of 87. She was employed by the Town of Port Barre as a Clerk and Dispatcher until time of her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Barre, where she enjoyed volunteering her time.

Survivors include her children Calvin Richard of Port Neches, Terry Richard of Krotz Springs, Donovan Richard, Sr., and his wife, Mary of Opelousas, Gloria Richard of Port Barre, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Richard, her parents, Joseph Sanne and Regina Arnaud Olivier.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday morning at 8 am until 10:30 am.
