Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Guillory Quebedeaux, age 87, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Father Daniel Picard will officiate the services.
Mrs. Helen passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014, at her residence in Gray, LA, surrounded by her loving and caring family. Her life began in Port Barre and was currently residing in Gray. She was a hard working homemaker and a caretaker for her family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her yard. She would do sewing occasionally as needed for her family. Mrs. Helen was a wonderful and dedicated wife, and a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed by the family and all that knew her.
She is survived by her son, Donald Wayne Quebedeaux and wife, Barbara of Gray daughterinlaw, Geraldine Geri Quebedeaux of Gray two sisters, Marie Lejeune of Carencro and Rita Hutchins of Port Barre two grandchildren: Tina Quebedeaux Norman and husband, Michael of Gray Lisa Quebedeaux Sims and husband, Jimmy of Gray two greatgrandchildren: Luke Sims and wife, Maria of Gray and Jamie N. Oubre and husband, Rob of Prairieville and four greatgreatgrandchildren: Logan Sims of Gray Ava Norman and Jaxon Oubre of Prairieville and Evan Sims of Gray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Quebedeaux one son, James Bobby Quebedeaux and her parents, Gilbert Guillory and Bridget Morain Guillory three brothers, Gilbert Guillory, Jr., Edward Guillory, and Eric Guillory.
Pallbearers will be Donald Quebedeaux, Michael Norman, Ricky Ortego, Rob Oubre, Luke Sims, and Jimmy Sims.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 9:00 am until 2:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her wonderful caretakers, Debra Kay and Dana Armant and the entire staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice of Houma for their special care given to Mrs. Helen.
