Port Barre -A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Dupre Duplechain will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Sacred Catholic Church. Fr. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Helen was a resident of Senior Village Nursing Home, she died on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the age of 92. Helen was a member of the Port Barre rosary group and the American Legion. She enjoyed playing pokeno.
Helen is survived by her children, William "Bill" Duplechain and his wife, Verna, Robert "Bob" Duplechain and his wife, Vicky, and Myra Duplechain all of Port Barre, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Edna Landry Dupre, her husband, George Duplechain, Jr., and one grandson, Jason Duplechain, brother, Kirby and Wade Dupre, sisters, Lois Harmon and Gertrude Dupre.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning until time of service.
