Port Barre-Funeral services for Helen L. Marks Artigue will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre, LA. Fr. Austin Leger will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Helen L. Marks Artigue, the former Helen Lalonde, was a native of Leonville, Louisiana. She died on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at her home in Port Barre at the age of 89. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, listening to music, and watching her soap operas on the television.
Helen is survived by one son, Gerald Bob "Bobby" Marks of Port Barre; four daughters, Gloria M. Guillory and husband, Wayne; Sherry M. Scruggins and husband, Barry; Mona M. Bordelon; and Tammy M. Guillory and husband, Eddie all of Port Barre; one brother, Austin "Neg" Lalonde, Jr. of Port Barre; four sisters, Lorita Cortez of Opelousas; Emma Stelly of Opelousas; Virgie Aden of Atlanta, TX; and Betty Andrus of Port Barre; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Pavy Marks; her parents, Austin Lalonde, Sr. and Rose Delina Guidroz Lalonde; her paternal grandparents, Lewis Lalonde and Olampe Robin Lalonde; and her maternal grandparents, Leonard Guidroz and Dora Taylor Guidroz; her sister, Norma Jean Prudhomme; her brothers, Danny Lalonde, Raymond Lalonde, Edmond Lalonde, and Wilbert Lalonde; one grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre.
