Hazel Marks

Leonville- Funeral services for Hazel Thibodeaux Marks, age 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery. Fth. Kenneth Dominque will conduct the Christian Mass of Burial and Valarie Andrus will provide the music.

Mrs. Hazel was born in Pecaniere and died on October 24, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. Mrs. Hazel was a homemaker and was a wonderful wife to her husbands, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is going to be missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Hazel is survived her sons; Camille Guidroz and Joseph Guidroz, Jr. of Prairie Ronde; daughters, Rose Guidroz and Elaine Aymond of Prairie Ronde; sisters, Bernice Highsmith, Gladys Benoit and Lilly Mae Myers of Port Barre; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 43 great-great grandchildren and 14 great-great-great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Lorita Guidroz.

Mrs. Hazel was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Guidroz, Sr. and Emery Marks; parents, Hypolite and Clorhide Savoie Thibodeaux; son, Harold Guidroz; daughter, Barbara Higginbotham; grandson, John Aymond; great grandson, Johnny Aymond; son-in-laws, Phillip Guidroz, Sr. and Howard Aymond; brothers, Elton Thibodeaux, Ferdie Thibodeaux and Clifton Thibodeaux; sister, Anita Richard.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
