Port Barre Funeral services for Hazel Lalonde, age 76, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011, with a service in the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Rev. Benji Richard will officate the Service.
Hazel was a native and a longtime resident of Port Barre, she passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas. Hazel worked for the St. Landry School Board in the Port Barre High School cafeteria for 30 years.
Survivors include children Marion Lalonde, Jr. and wife, Mary Ann of Port Barre, Bobby Lalonde of Fargo, N.D., Rodney Lalonde of Leonville, Brenda Lalonde of Leonville, Sandra Miller of Port Barre, brothers Horace Thibodeaux of Melville, A.J. Thibodeaux of Leonville, sister Helen Bertrand of Kinder, LA., sixteen grandchildren Travis Ellis, Michelle Valin, Christy Lalonde, Christopher Lalonde, Bobby Lalonde, Jr. Donovan Lalonde, Skylar Perrine, Bobbie Jo Lalonde, Brittany Lalonde, Vance Lalonde, Kaylin Lalonde, Taylor Lalonde, Bryson Lalonde, Julie Patin, Elizabeth Miller, and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Lalonde, Sr., her parents Ozama and Lydia Soileau Thibodeaux, and one daughter Barbara Ann Lalonde.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Saturday, from 3 p.m. with an all night wake, until time of service on Sunday at 1:00
