Hayden Buddy Hoffpauir

Opelousas Funeral services for Hayden Buddy Hoffpauir, age 65, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011, with a service in the Episcopal Church of Epiphany in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial park.
Buddys heart of gold stopped beating at 6:45 a.m. Firday July 29, 2011.
Mr. Hoffpauir is survived by his loving wife of 31 years. Toni Quebedeaux Hoffpauir, his daughter, Tracy Tromblay Roger and her husband Phil of Carencro, his 2 granddaughters, Bailey Riddle Addysen Roger, 1 stepgrandson, Christian Roger, 3 nephews, and his loving dog, Biscuit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John A. Hoffpauir and Mrs. Velma Richard Hoffpauir of Crowley, his sister, Florence Hoffpauir Leger of Crowley, and most recently, his beloved granddog Romo.
Buddy was an avid Cajun accordion player who enjoyed Sunday jam sessions, was an articulate story teller, and was a very talented artist and wood carver. He enjoyed LSU and Saints football, was an avid history buff and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a pleasure to be around, never met a stranger, and was truly and amazing man. He fought a hard, 2 yr battle with cancer courageously and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was a current member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Opelousas, was a retired meat cutter, and served in the U.S. Navy as a young man.
Father Pete Smith will conduct services at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Opelousas, with burial to follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
The family would like to thank, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative care for the exceptional care given to our family in our time of need.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 12 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
