Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Harris P. LeBlanc, Sr. age 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in St. Landry Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Father James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
Mr. LeBlanc was a resident of J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home, where he passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014. He liked helping people and building things and was a carpenter all of his life.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his children, Wayne LeBlanc and his wife, Jennifer of Port Barre Larry LeBlanc of Port Barre Betty Ray and her husband, Conrad of Opelousas Peggy Macip and her husband, Charles of Port Barre Eva Shaw of Victoria, TX and Glennora Credeur and her husband, Ray of Port Barre sixteen grandchildren, twentytwo greatgrandchildren, and five greatgreat grandchildren.
Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his parents, Tilus and Ophelia Angelle LeBlanc his wife, Elena Carrier his sons, Phillip Harris, Jr. and Raymond LeBlanc one grandson, Chad Credeur two brothers, O.J. LeBlanc and James LeBlanc seven sisters, Ada Taylor, Mead LeBlanc, Bertha Moran, Eugenia Schexnayder, Lydia LeBlanc, Lillien Morris, and Thelma Dore and one soninlaw, Rhodie Shaw.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A rosary service will be on Monday evening in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.
