Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mr. Harold Baque, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Msgr Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas.
Mr. Harold, age 92, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Senior Village Nursing Home. He loved cooking, camping and hunting. Mr. Harold worked and retired with the Louisiana Dept of Agriculture as an Inspector. He was in the Airforce from 1951-1955. He also participated in the Yambilee Festival for many years. Mr. Harold will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Randy Baque and wife, Pam of Port Neches, TX; daughters, Becky Roy and husband, Ricky of Church Point, LA and Leara Baque of Scott, LA; one brother, Billy Baque and wife, Bettie of Opelousas; 5 grandchildren, Amy Wagley, Jenny Royer, Master Sergeant James Walls, Erica Nguyen and Steven Baque; 11 great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Anna and Clayton Brown, Desiré, Chloe, Regan, Christian and William Royer, Boston and Lexington Walls, and Benji Nguyen; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Kai.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine “Gerri” Baque; parents, Joseph (Sr) and Anna Adele Baque; sisters, Adele Guilbeau, Verna Mae Carron and Doris Goudeau; brothers, Joe Baque and Charles Baque.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Harold Baque to Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care or The Alzheimer’s Association @ act.alz.org.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care and Senior Village Nursing Home, for the care and love they showed their father.
