Gwendolyne Hogue

Gwendolyne Hamilton Hogue, age 96, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at Teche Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

She is survived by her daughter soninlaw, Sondra and A.J. Dohmann of Morgan City, her daughterinlaw, Mrs. Patty Hogue of Ville Platte and 7 grandchildren: Mrs. Rhonda Eves, Mrs. Renee Darbonne, Randy Dohmann, Joey Dohmann, Irby L. Hogue III, Christopher Hogue, and Mrs. Natalie Graser 15 great grandchildren: Mrs. Lindsay Bonini, Mrs. Krystin St. Romain, Erin Daigle, Andrew Darbonne, Ryan Darbonne, Robbie Dohmann, Spencer Dohmann, Cameron Frank, Allison Frank, Celeste Graser, Clint Graser, Angel Grazer, Gweneth Dohmann, MaryAlice Dohmann, Vincent Dohmann 3 greatgreat grandchildren, Graham, Gavin and Scarlett St. Romain.

She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Irby Leon Hogue, Sr. and son, Irby Leon Hogue, Jr.

Gwendolyne, a talented musician, loved to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Until recently, Gwen often entertained her friends at her senior assisted living home, Maison Jardin, with her piano selections. An accomplished organist and pianist, she donated her talent to her church and community all of her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a gracious lady. All of her family and friends will miss her, her beautiful smile and her kind, sweet and gentle ways.

The funeral will be held at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, with a service to be held in Sibilles Chapel at 2 p.m. The Reverend Perry Hubbs of the First Baptist Church of Opelousas will conduct the services. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
