Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gregory James Robin on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. Burial will follow in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery in Leonville.
Gregory, a dedicated pipeline welder, passed away on July 6, 2024, at his home in Port Barre. He was born on October 29, 1963, in Opelousas. Gregory's passion for welding began early in his life and grew to become his pride and joy throughout his career.
Throughout his life, Gregory laid the foundation for his future as a skilled tradesman. His expertise and precision in welding earned him a respected reputation among his peers and colleagues. Beyond his profession, Gregory enjoyed various hobbies including hunting, fishing in the basin and tending to his cows. However, above all else, he cherished spending time with his beloved family and grandchildren.
Gregory was a loving husband to Paula Ann Guidry Robin. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home for their children. He is survived by his sons, Dustin Robin (Susan) of Port Barre, and Jake Robin (Holly) of Opelousas. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Dillon and Maverick Robin, Karli Rae Robin, and Kane Robin.
Gregory leaves behind his siblings Barbara Soileau of Port Barre, Rose Marie Robin Dunn (James) of Baton Rouge, Virginia Robin Marks and Myron Gauthier of Port Barre, Mary Stoute (Gary) of Port Barre; sister-in-law Jenelle Dupre Robin of Leonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Gregory was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Ann Guidry Robin, parents Robert and Rosa Robin, brother George Robin, and brothers-in-law James Soileau, Jude Marks, his in law, Preston and Edna Guidry, brother in law, Brian Guidry.
Throughout his life, Gregory James Robin touched the hearts of many with his dedication to his craft and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday. July 9, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. On Wednesday, July 10, 2024 the visitation will continue at 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Robin, Jake Robin, Richard Devillier, Dennis "Squeeky" Soileau, Kenneth Marks and Hunter Simoneaux.
