Goldie Guidry

Grand Coteau Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Charles Bommero Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, for Goldie Boudreau Guidry. Father James Lambert will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Goldie was a life long resident of Sunset. She passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at her home in Sunset, at the age of 94.

She graduated from the College Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau. She was a member of the V.F.W. womans auxiliary, Opelousas chapter. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society and a Eucharistic minister at St. Charles Bommero Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. She taught school at Prairie Ronde, Cankton and St. Ignatius. Ms. Goldie was a volunteer at the nursing home, the Library, and as well at her daughter Marvels Thrift Shop. She taught Catechism classes at St. Ignatius.


Survivors include her children Jerilyn LaVergne and her husband, Cecil of Sunset, Marvel Guidry of Sunset and Charla Guidry of Sunset, ten grandchildren, and nineteen, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rodney Guidry, her parents, George and Ellena Boudreau, her son, Francis Darryl Guidry, her brother, Aryon Boudreau.

Visiting hours will be observed on Friday, November 30, 2012, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday morning at 9 am until 12:30 pm.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
