Glynn Brown

OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Prairie Ronde at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Fr. Ted Broussard officiating.
It is with great sadness that the family of Glynn Brown, age 63, announces his passing on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at his home. He was a Navy Veteran. He recently retired from the State of Louisiana as District Administrator for Probation and Parole division. He was a member of these clubs: Southern States Correctional Association, Louisiana Probation and Parole Officers Association, Accredited Correctional Association, Wardens Association, Professional Managers Association, and Certified Professional Manager. Glynn was an avid hunter and fishermen. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend that will be sadly missed.
Music selection will be played by his godchild, Duston Stout.
He leaves behind his loving wife, of 39 years, Mrs. Brenda Pitre Brown of Opelousas, his children, Dr. Stuart Brown and wife, Jackie of Opelousas, and Alaina Brown of Lafayette, his brothers, Clayton, Claiborne, James Carol, Donald and Richard Brown, one half brother, Michael Brown, his sisters, Gloria Addington, Mona Guidry, and Linda Cormier, his half sisters, Karen Boudreaux, Brenda Forse, his grandchildren, Elise and Emily Brown and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ozay and Vela Young Brown.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, followed by Fr. Leger.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning Tuesday October 23, 2012 at 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm on Wednesday October 24, 2012
