OpelousasFuneral services for Gladys Hidalgo Liebert, age 94 will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.
Gladys was native of Opelousas she passed away at her home on Monday evening with all her family around her. Gladys was Dr. Don Deblanc right hand nurse she was with from the beginning till the end of his practice. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her brothers Joseph and Gene Hidalgo, nieces, and nephews Richard Lucito, John Lucito, Steven Lucito, Rene Hidalgo III, Richard Hidalgo, Elizabeth Hidalgo, Anita Faye Hidalgo, Joseph Hidalgo Jr., Chris Hidalgo, Gregory Hidalgo, Denise Green, Cheryl Polermo, Ann Lucito Wager, and Gene Hidalgo, host of great nieces, and nephews, special family and friends Rosa Lopez, Ed Lopez, Donna Lopez, Al Lopez, Ricky Lopez, Norma Lopez and Greg Brandl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dick Liebert, parents Rene and Anna Chachere Hidalgo, sister Marie Hidalgo Lucito, brothers Mervin and E.T. Hidalgo, David Hidalgo.
The family would like to express sincere gratituded to the nurses and aids of LA. Hospice and Palliative Care, and Dr. Michael Burnell and his staff. A very special thanks to Rose Chavis and her family for all the help love and support.
The family request that in lue of flowers St. Jude Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Thursday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
