Lafayette A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA, for Mrs. Gladys Dor Dronet, known to many as Moni. Rev. Father William Schambough will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at a later date in the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
Moni was a native of Youngsville. Most of her life was spent in Lake Charles and she was currently living in Lafayette. She passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at her daughters residence surrounded by her family at the age of 95.
She started her elementary education at St. Michaels in Crowley. Then, she graduated from Lake Charles High School and continued on to St. Anthonys Hospital in Houston, TX, where she earned her LPN Degree. She was a homemaker, expert tailor and dress designer, caring mother, and nurse. She devoted her all to family and siblings.
Moni and her husband, Bill formed the VFW Chapter 2436 in Lake Charles. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra B. Leonpacher and husband, Alfred of Lafayette and Jeanne Dronet of Lafayette two sisters, Lucille Dor Sonnier and husband, Floyd of Lake Charles and Lula Mae Dor of Lafayette nephew, Donald W. Cameron grandchildren: Ann B. Comeaux, Christopher Belaire, M.J. Bobby Belaire and wife, Shara Stephen Duhon and wife, Sherrie Sharron D. Hunt and husband, Bobby and Darron Duhon and wife, Tonya. Great grandchildren: Doug Comeaux, Camille Comeaux, Colby Duhon, Kyle Duhon, Kaden Duhon, Brittany Dupuis, Adley Kate Belaire, and Tucker Morgan Belaire and nieces: Catherine Charmelo, Mary C. Watson, Loretta Dor, Judy Dor, and Janet S. Piper and husband, Michael.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Bill Dronet her parents, Eugene Dor, Sr. and Evi Domingue brothers, Leon, Ivy, Chester, Willis, Eugene, Forest, and Jesse Dor sister, Euna Dor Cameron and husband, Donald and nephew, Andr Gene OBryan, Charles Dor, and Jimmy Dor.

The family gathering and visiting will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the St. Pius X Catholic Church, 201 East Bayou Parkway, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in the church.
