Gilda Robin

Port Barre-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gilda Stoute Robin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Gilda was a native of Waxia and longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 92. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Robin of Port Barre; three daughters, Dian Reed of Metairie; Cheryl Collins and husband, Peter of Carencro; and Debra Young and husband, Mark of Port Barre; four sisters, Ruby Latiolais of Gonzales; Eula Mae Marks of Gonzales; Lucille Dupre of Independence; and Bertha Darbonne of Walker; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clarence Robin; daughter-in-law, Cynthia L. Robin; parents, Gerard Stoute and Evelina Guidry Stoute; two brothers, Joseph Stoute and Curley Stoute; and three sisters, Edna Robin, Elizabeth Johnson, and Evelyn Bazar.
Pallbearers will be Mark Young, Jacob Young, Jude Robin, Dennis Daussat, Khayman Reed, and Devin Carriere.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
