Gertrude Hinckley

Opelousas- A Funeral Service for Gertrude Hinckley will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2015, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Hinckley Gardner Family Cemetery in Washington, with Rev.

Gertie passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas, at the age of 88. Gertie worked at the Clerk of Court office as a deputy clerk.

Gertie was a resident of Opelousas. She always had a kind word to say about everyone she knew. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She was active in her church. She never met anyone she didn't like. She loved all animals particular her cat, and her dog, and she helped her brother raised cattle.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Hinckley of Washington, two nephews and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Roberta Drew Hinckley, Sr., brother, Arthur, Clanton, and Albert, sisters, Roberta, Leary Lee, and Frances.

Visiting hours will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. On Friday, the visitation will resume beginning at 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
