Geraldine Geri Bourque Hebert

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Geri Bourque Hebert, 58, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2006, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Port Barre.

Deacon Mitch Hebert, nephew of Mrs. Hebert, will conduct the services. Music will be performed by Benjamin Thompson and Pat Melancon also nephews of Mrs. Hebert. Scripture will be read by granddaughter Paige Hebert and nephew Mitchel Hebert.

Mrs. Hebert passed away at 2:42 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2006, at Opelousas General Health System. She was a long time resident of Port Barre and assisted in managing the family business--Bourque's Supermarket.

Mrs. Geri's life revolved around her family. She especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. She strongly supported and was involved with their school and extra curricular activities and community events. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and coworkers.

Survivors include her parents, Adolph and Yvonne Bourque of Port Barre; her husband of 39 years, Mr. Robert Ray Hebert; two sons: David Hebert and wife, Donna; and Dion Hebert; two daughters: Celeste Stoute and husband, Brett; and Holly LaFleur and husband, Gary; all of Port Barre; four brothers: George Bourque of Cut Off; Lester Bourque, Homer Bourque, and Karl Bourque, all of Port Barre; one sister, Mona Thompson of Humble, TX; and thirteen grandchildren: Paige, Catherine, Morgan, Chaz, Stephan, Elizabeth, Mallory, Emily, Sarah, Daniel, Andrew, Ryan, and Joseph.

Mrs. Geri's nephews: Shannon Bourque, Chad Bourque, Daine Bourque, Denton Bourque, Derek Bourque, Walter Thompson IV, Timothy Thompson, and Mark Thompson will serve as her pallbearers.

Visiting hours will be observed on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Sunday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in the funeral home.
