Gerald P. Thibodeaux

Port Barre Funeral services for Mr. Gerald P. Thibodeaux, 70, will be held on Friday, May 11, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.

Mr. Thibodeaux was a long-time resident of Port Barre and died on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 12:00 p.m. in the St. Landry Extended Care of Opelousas, LA. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post in Port Barre.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Hilda Richard Thibodeaux of Port Barre; two sons: John and Steve Thibodeaux, both of Melville; six daughters: Geraldine Guillory and husband, Bobby; and Susan Arnaud and husband, Billy Joe, all of Port Barre; Joan Trahan of Esterwood; Cynthia Romero and Lori Fall, both of Rayne; and Linda Richard of Leonville; two sisters: Dorothy Manuel and Lily Stoute, both of Opelousas; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two godchildren: Shirley Mire and Ricky Thibodeaux.

Mr. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents: Edless Thibodeaux, Sr. and Marie Semar Thibodeaux; brothers: Edless Thibodeaux, Jr. and Allen Thibodeaux; sister, Carrie Radke; and grandson, Louis Clyde Bergeron, Jr.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Friday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
