Gerald Joseph DuFilho

Opelousas Funeral services for Gerald Joseph DuFilho, 85, will be held at 3:30PM Saturday, December 9, 2006, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Reverend Benny Reppond will conduct the services.

Gerald Joseph DuFilho, a native and resident of Opelousas, died at 7:56AM on Friday December 8, 2006 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. DuFilho served in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. DuFilho was an electrical engineer and worked at Tidewater Marine in Opelousas until retirement.

Mr. DuFilho was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World Society.

Survivors include: a daughter, Geraldine Jerry Cortez and husband Joe of Opelousas; two step daughters, Lee Taylor of Opelousas and Norma Pascula and husband Ray of Vidor, TX; step son, Kermit Folks and wife Patricia of Youngsville; grandson Gerald J. Cortez and wife Kristie of Opelousas; a special step grandson, Johnny Taylor and wife Liz; three great grandchildren, Cody, Callie, and Camie Cortez; and two step great grandchildren, Jaci and Jobi Taylor.
