Opelousas Funeral services for Georgia Perry Guidry, age 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Father Paul Metrejean will celebrate the Mass.
Georgia was a sales Clerk at Abdallas Deptment Store in Opelousas for many years, she was a member of the Altar Society, Rosary group, and she was in a very special coffee group that she loved to be a part of.
Survivors include a her step son, Wayne Guidry and his wife, Charlotte of Opelousas, her brother, Benjamin Perry Jr., and his wife, Mary Alice of Lafayette, her sister, Willie Mae Billie Mackey of Opelousas, three step grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Georgia will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Carriere Perry, her first husband, John Ruffino, and her second husband, Joseph S. Guidry, and her brother, James Toppy Perry.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 1, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home.
