George Samuel Schiff

Opelousas- Funeral Services will be held for George Samuel Schiff on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rabbi Barry Weinstein will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Temple Emanuel Jewish Cemetery in Opelousas. The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. till time of service on Monday, June 10, 2024, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.  
 
George, a computer expert known for his loving and caring personality, passed away on June 7, 2024, at Lafayette General Hospital. Born on February 23, 1960, in Opelousas, George leaves a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
 
Throughout his life, George dedicated himself to the world of technology as a computer expert. His passion for computers was evident to all who had the pleasure of working with him. Beyond his professional achievements, George was revered for his kind and compassionate nature. He touched the lives of many with his warm smile and generous spirit.
 
In his free time, George indulged in various hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He especially loved celebrating Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, immersing himself in the vibrant culture of New Orleans. Additionally, he found solace in fishing and cherished moments spent with his feet in the water at Grand Isle.
 
George is survived by his loving parents, Madge Sanders and Leslie Schiff of Opelousas; son, Samuel Schiff of New Orleans; daughter, Anna of Lafayette; brother, Jim Schiff of Montz, LA,; sisters, Stephanie Schiff Mills (Jack) of Opelousas and Rebecca Schiff Welsh (Jim) of Baton Rouge.
 
 He is preceded in death by his grandparents Dave and Cleo Sanders, and George and Nellie Schiff.
 
The memory of George's kind heart and unwavering dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved by many and that his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
