George A. Moscovis
Opelousas -A Funeral Service for George Anthony "Tony" Moscovis will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Sibille Funeral Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Vinson Tullos, Pastor of the Opelousas Bible Church will conduct the Funeral Service.
George was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System South Campus at the age of 61. He was a bus driver, truck driver and also served our Nation in the U.S. Marine Corp. Tony was a collector of many things and he loved animals, especially his dogs, horses and chickens. Tony never met a stranger and was a very loving son, brother and uncle.
Survivors include his sisters, Ida Sue Lemoine (John Cass, Jr.) , Betty Rose Abdalla, Sandra Kay Moscovis all of Opelousas; nieces, Michelle Johnson and Cynthia Lemoine-Jordan; two great-nephews and three great -nieces.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, George Lewis and Lottie P. Kessinger Moscovis, brother, Tommy D. Moscovis and brother-in-law George Abdalla.
Pallbearers will be La'Jon Jordan, Jason Johnson, Alec Johnson, Wayne Moscovis, Micah Moscovis, Michael Speyrer, Ted Scott and Joseph E. "Topp" Colligan.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until time of Service at 10:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
