OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. George Jagneaux, known to many as Marshall.
Marshall was a native of Opelousas and was currently a resident of Lafayette. He passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, at the age of 69. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country.
He was the owner and operator of Marshalls Army Surplus in Eunice and was a vender at the Jockey Lot for 10 years. He enjoyed spending time helping his son with his restaurant, Who Daqs in Lafayette. He enjoyed spending time as a spectator at his grandsons sporting events.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Michael Jagneaux and wife, Tiffany Guidry Jagneaux of Lafayette two brothers, Ferdie Jagneaux and wife, Mildred of Opelousas and Larry Jagneaux and wife, Arlene of Opelousas three sisters, Versie Brisco Schwartz of Lafayette Ruth Boudreaux and husband, Levy of Lawtell and Judy Poulet of Opelousas one special grandson, Spencer Michael Jagneaux of Lafayette two special godchildren, Jody Jagneaux and Katherine Jagneaux. He is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Jagneaux and Elmire Olivier Jagneaux two brothers, Alden Ray Jagneaux and Melvin Jagneaux one sister, Mabel Moreau and an infant sister.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, November 25, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
