Geneva Stanford

Port Barre– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Geneva Vidrine Stanford on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

Geneva, age 66, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by her family.

Geneva enjoyed spending time at the camp and cooking for her family. She cherished spending time with her family and friends; mostly she loved spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Geneva is survived by her husband, Wayne Stanford of Port Barre; daughters, Kim Doucet (Jesse) of Port Barre and Holly LeDoux (Steven) of Washington; sisters, Suzanna Doucet (Anthony) of Port Barre and Tammy Cushman (Charles) of Opelousas; 4 grandchildren, Galen Doucet (Cassidy) of Port Barre, Kendalyn Sanders (Dustin) of Port Barre, Sydni and Logan LeDoux of Washington; 3 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Finlee and Weslyn Doucet (on the way).

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Neva Leger Vidrine; brother, Johnny Ray Vidrine, paternal grandparents, Fred and Elizabeth Dupre Vidrine; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Hester Dupre Leger; and in-laws, Paul and Edna Stanford.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Galen Doucet, Logan LeDoux, Dustin Sanders, Johnny Doucet, Jan Deville and Brent Leger. Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas Doucet, Cade Quebedeaux and Onezime Allemond, Jr.
