Gary Harmon

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mr. Gary Harmon, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017, at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Reverend Michael Miceli (Gary's Cousin) will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Gary, age 59, a resident of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his residence. Gary first began his studies at ABW and LSUE to become a registered nurse. Through out his career he worked at Opelousas General Hospital, The Heart Hospital of Lafayette and Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice. He was currently working in the Cath Lab at Our lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Gary enjoyed working out and supporting his daughter attending events for the National Association for Down Syndrome. He also enjoyed cheering his daughters on at their softball games. Gary will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Brandi Harmon; daughters, Sophie Alyse Harmon and Sydnie Anne Harmon; brother, Dr. Richard Harmon and wife, Pam; sister, Brenda Bennett and husband, Robert.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joann Richard Harmon and his brother, David Harmon.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A rosary will be prayed by J.C. Richard (Gary's Uncle) on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, May 29, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Keith Richard, Mark Richard, Caleb Shaw, Nick Duos, Ethan Harmon and Brian Harmon.
