Opelousas- By request of Gary a private memorial service will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Wendy Sibille will officiate the service.
Gary Wayne Bertrand, a dedicated Superintendent known for his hard work and leadership, passed away peacefully at his home in Opelousas. He was born on May 15, 1963, in Church Point, Louisiana. Throughout his life, Gary was a symbol of integrity and commitment in all aspects of his career and personal endeavors.
Gary's passion for hunting and fishing not only brought joy but also defined him as a man who appreciated the beauty of nature and the thrill of the great outdoors. His love for these activities allowed him to find solace and relaxation amidst the busyness of life.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Frankie Daigle Bertrand of Opelousas; his loving daughter, Cassie Bertrand Mouton (Nick) of Duson; his dear sister, Joni Bertrand Nezat (Kenny) of Madisonville, La.; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Peyton Mouton and Sutton Mouton. Gary's presence in their lives will always be remembered with fondness and gratitude for the love he shared with each of them.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Nolan Bertrand; paternal grandparents, Milton Bertrand and Resa Ardoin Bertrand; as well as maternal grandparents, Frank Daigle and Verdie Thibodeaux Daigle. His memory will live on through the stories and memories shared by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In remembrance of Gary Wayne Bertrand, let us celebrate a life well-lived and honor the legacy he leaves behind. May his kindness, dedication, and unwavering spirit inspire us all to embrace each day with passion and purpose.
