Fred Lucas

Opelousas Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. Fred Lucas. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA. Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the Service.

Fred was a resident of Tri Community Nursing Home where he passed away at the age of 82, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran in the Korean War. He loved his profession as a diesel mechanic he enjoyed hunting, and the out doors. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Evelyn Stephen Lucas of Opelousas, his children Mary Ellen Broussard of Opelousas, Diana Lynn Benoit of Carencro, and Fred Bennett Lucas, six grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Grover and Easter Cox Lucas.

At the family request the visitation will began on Friday, November 2, 2012, from 4 p.m. till 9 pm and on Saturday it will continue at 8 am until time of service at 10 am.
